Terms & Conditions

3 November 2024

By purchasing a ticket and attending HandyCon, you acknowledge and agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms and Conditions, please do not purchase a ticket or attend the Convention.

  • These Terms and Conditions apply to all individuals attending HandyCon as private individuals, excluding traders, exhibitors, volunteers, or members of staff ("Attendees"). HandyCon (the "Convention") refers to the quarterly conventions and single charity days organised by HandyCon Ltd. (the "Organisers"). The "Venue" refers to the location where HandyCon is hosted, as specified for each convention.

By attending the Convention, each Attendee agrees to:

    • a) Follow all instructions and reasonable requests made by the Organisers or anyone acting as a Volunteer at the Convention, either prior to or during the Convention.

    • b) Comply with any terms and conditions set by the Venue's management or staff, provided they are communicated to the Attendee either prior to or during the Convention.

    • c) Adhere to any reasonable instructions given by the Venue's management or staff, as though those terms were incorporated into these Terms & Conditions.

All matters not explicitly covered by these Terms are subject to the Organisers' discretion. Attendees agree to abide by any additional rules or regulations that may be adopted or prescribed by the Organisers for the smooth running of the Convention, provided they are communicated to the Attendees.

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

  • To access the Convention areas of the Venue, each individual must hold a valid ticket.

Ticket purchases must be made in advance through our website, www.handycon.co.uk. We do not accept payments at the door, and ticket availability is not guaranteed on the day of the Convention. To avoid disappointment, please ensure you purchase your ticket online before the Convention sells out.

All tickets purchased online will be emailed to the Attendee. If an Attendee arrives without access to their ticket, they must present a valid photo ID to verify ticket ownership.

Upon arrival, Attendees must exchange their ticket for a Convention pass, which must be worn and visible at all times in the Convention areas of the Venue.

  • Tickets purchased for HandyCon are strictly non-transferable for resale. We do not permit ticket resale.

Attendees who wish to cancel their tickets more than 30 days before the Convention's start date are eligible for a full refund, minus a £5 handling fee per transaction, which covers transaction and processing fees.

Cancellations must be requested via email from the same email address used to purchase the ticket. Refunds may be processed up to 14 days after the Convention date, once the cancellation request is confirmed.

Tickets are non-refundable within 30 days of the Convention; however, we kindly offer the option to transfer the ticket to a future HandyCon date.

Flexibility on these terms is at the sole discretion of the Organisers.

  • If the Convention is cancelled before it begins, the full ticket cost will be refunded.

If the Convention is terminated earlier than scheduled, the Organisers' liability will be limited to a pro-rata refund of the ticket price based on the time the Convention ran before cancellation.

In both cases, the Organisers are not responsible for any additional costs incurred by Attendees, such as travel, accommodation, or transaction fees.

  • HandyCon is committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all, regardless of age, race, religion/belief, sex, gender identity, sexuality, disability, pregnancy/parenthood, or appearance. The Organisers reserve the right to refuse entry or remove any individual who is found to be engaging in prejudiced or discriminatory behaviour.

The Organisers may also refuse entry to individuals with a known history of engaging in inappropriate or harmful behaviour.

All Attendees, exhibitors, volunteers, and staff must adhere to HandyCon’s Code of Conduct and Anti-Harassment Policy, which is in place to ensure the safety and comfort of all participants.

The Organisers reserve the right to refuse admission to any Attendee if they are deemed to be inappropriately dressed or engaging in dangerous or disruptive behaviour.

If you are unsure whether your attire or planned activities are appropriate for the Convention, please contact the Organisers before the Convention for clarification.

HandyCon strives to make its conventions accessible to all attendees, including those with disabilities, in line with the Equality Act 2010. If you have specific accessibility requirements, please reach out to the Organisers at

  • Attendees are not permitted to display or distribute flyers, business cards, or other promotional/advertising materials without prior written permission from the Organisers.

  • HandyCon Ltd. will handle your personal information in accordance with UK and EU data protection laws.

Your information will only be used for administrative purposes, communication about the Convention, and for research aimed at improving the Convention. Attendees have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of their personal data at any time. For further details on how we handle your data, including your data rights, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

  • The Organisers, or anyone acting on their behalf, reserve the right to film, photograph, or otherwise record the Convention. By attending, you consent to potentially appearing in these recordings or photographs, which may be used for promotional purposes, including on social media.

If you do not wish to be photographed or filmed, please inform a member of staff or the photographer upon arrival.

  • By purchasing a ticket and attending HandyCon, you acknowledge and agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms and Conditions, please do not purchase a ticket or attend the Convention.

  • HandyCon aims to create an accessible and welcoming environment for all attendees, including those who may require additional support.

For the purposes of these Terms and Conditions:

    • A Carer is someone who provides ongoing assistance or support to an individual with disabilities, enabling them to attend and participate in the Convention.

    • An Essential Companion is an individual designated by an attendee who, due to a disability or health condition, requires personal support to fully engage with the Convention.

Attendees in need of a Carer or Essential Companion ticket should contact the Organisers in advance to arrange the necessary accommodations. Proof of eligibility for Carer or Essential Companion support may be requested, such as relevant documentation or identification, to ensure fair access.
